COGNICA is the bilingual newsletter of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. The following facts are the raison d'être of COGNICA. They therefore influence the material that is considered for publication.

Our newsletter:
is addressed to all anglophone and francophone members of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association;
is the foremost communication tool for reaching counsellor members in the different provinces of Canada and in many areas of the world;
provides an opportunity for counsellor members to share their interests, to inform their colleagues of their projects and to publish their manuscripts;
is addressed to CCPA members who represent groups of counsellors employed in varied geographical areas and in different domains of interest and specialization;
was given the mandate "to reflect the current status of counselling across Canada";
is distributed for free to CCPA members;
Subscription price for one year period is $40.00 Canadian for non members.
The Editor position is presently under the responsibility of the National Office.
Guidelines for contributors
Content:
The documents submitted should be about practical topics of interest to counsellors. They may be reports of counselling interventions, case studies, strategies utilized in individual or group work with clients, brief theoretical articles, information about relevant topics, etc.
Form:
The manuscripts should be no more that 1 or 2 pages in length, single-spaced. They may be submitted in English or French. Each submission should include an abstract of 10 lines, at the most. Abstracts will be translated and published in the language other than that of the article.
References:
It is recommended that submissions contain a list of references. These may not be published with the manuscript but will be made available upon request to the Editor.
Procedure:
All manuscripts should be sent to the attention of the Editor at the National CCPA Office in Ottawa. Members of the Editorial Committee will review the material submitted in light of the criteria mentioned above. The author(s) will be advised of the decision to publish and of the approximate time of publication.
COGNICA is published four times a year. The submission deadlines for articles are:
December 1st
March 1st
June 1st
September 1st.
You can however submit articles at any time of the year.
