CEU Credit Table
As a Certified Canadian Counsellor (CCC) you must obtain Continuing Education Units (CEUs) in order to maintain your certification. The requirement is 24 CEUs over the course of each three year period that you are certified. The CEUs must be obtained in a relevant counselling area.
Please note that while your certification expiration date is every three years, membership fees and certification fees are payable annually.
Upon request, CCPA can send you an official CEU transcript. Additionally, you may print an unofficial CEU transcript for yourself by logging into our website. Many members use this transcript to show their professional training to their employer.
The following table will show you how CEU credits are assigned.

Indicate how the professional event is related to counselling e.g. description, specific website, copy of the program.
Submit a proof of participation e.g. copy of the University transcript, receipt, certificate, etc.
Submit a proof of the length of the event e.g. copy of the program, certificate with the hours of attendance, etc.
Incomplete applications may be returned to the sender. CCPA reserves the right to determine the number of CEUs awarded after reviewing the CEU application.
If you have more than 24 Continuing Education Units for a three year period, the extra Continuing Education Units cannot be applied to the next three years.
