Career Development Chapter

How to Join

To join a CCPA Chapter, you first must be a member of CCPA (any category of membership).The annual fee is $10. Please indicate on your membership/renewal form the chapter(s) you wish to join and include the fee(s) with your total payment.  You may also join a chapter at any time throughout the year by sending a cheque payable to CCPA to the National Office.  Please specify the chapter(s) you wish to join.

Dr. R. Vance Peavy Travel Bursary
The Career Development Chapter offers a bursary of $300 toward attending the following national conferences: the annual CCPA (Canadian Counselling Association) conference, CANNEXUS or NATCON.

Applicants must be full-time students in graduate or other post-secondary programs in counselling, career counselling, or career development and have research interests in career development.

Preference will be given to students who have written a paper and have submitted a proposal to present at one of the above conferences.

Please submit your application electronically to the CD Chapter President (s.hopkins@ccdf.ca) and include the following in your application:

  • Your contact information
  • Program or degree description and proof of full-time status (e.g., letter from Department or supervisor)
  • Year of studies
  • Current research/practice interests (max. 300 words)
  • Title, date, and description of conference presentation (if applicable)

The deadline for submission of applications is the first Monday in December.

Applications will be ranked according to the above criteria, and a decision will be made by the Executive by the third Friday in December.  All applicants will be informed of the decision.

The winner will be expected to provide a summary of their presentation for inclusion in a Chapter Communiqué and/or to present their paper at the annual CDC meeting during the Canadian Counselling Association conference.
