In the Information Age - OPTRA emphasizes group counselling for processing information
Jacques Limoges & Cynthia Martiny
9:00am - 12:00pm

Whatever the shortage –jobs or workers- job search is always problematic for individuals and work places. The Information Age has greatly improved “Information giving/getting” but “Information processing” remains a challenge. Being interpersonal from A to Z, there is no better way to find a job than by using group approaches. OPTRA is a 45-hour core program helping job seekers succeed regardless of how long they’ve been unemployed or whatever the local unemployment rate is. It includes 4 dimensions: Economic-socio-political environment, Self, “Zoom” and Method; stresses work spinoffs and highlights a new perspective of the unemployment phases. OPTRA is awareness and action oriented.
